| "By Duckhorn. This nicely fruited youngster rings true to Merlot cherries and to the supple feel that marks better versions, and it goes a bit further in sweetening its mix with deft notes of toast and caramel. It runs into a slight streak of finishing toughness, but its tannins are not overbearing and are well in line with its fruit, and while service with food will help smooth its way now, a short stay of some two or three years in the cellar will see it through to its best.
